How North Korea Took Your Remote Tech Job
An American woman and a Ukrainian man were arrested for helping North Korean IT workers infiltrate 300 American companies.

Guys, I think I found out where all the jobs went.
Last Thursday, the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) announced the arrests of an American woman and a Ukrainian man for allegedly aiding North Korea-linked IT workers to get jobs at 300 American companies.
They were able to infiltrate: Fortune 500 companies, banks, a major TV network, a defense company, and a car manufacturer.
The scheme generated $6.8 million in wages for North Korean workers before they were caught.
Even more problematic, the North Korean IT workers were linked to North Korea's Munitions Industry Department, which oversees the country's ballistic missiles and weapons production.
The American woman and Ukrainian man linked to the crime assisted in the scheme by providing what is known as a “laptop farm,” which is a location hosting multiple computers all connecting to the Internet through one network to assist remote individuals with logging into computers discreetly without having to give away their actual location.
I can’t wait for a tech company to list North Korea among the reasons they need you back in the office.
